Objectives and Narrative |
JR254F: This was the last in a series of cruise for the Waves, Aerosols and Gas Exchange (WAGES) study. Continuous air-sea flux and sea-state measurements have been made on JCR since May 2010, and data are routinely lodged with BODC on a 3-monthly basis. During the cruise, a number of deployments were made using the NOC spar buoy - deployments lasted from a few hours to 30 hours each.
JR287: A study of Tristan da Cunha's marine biodiversity funded by a successful Darwin Initiative joint application by the British Antarctic Survey, Tristan da Cunha Government and the Falkland Islands-based Shallow Marine Surveys Group. Additional funding was later provided by The Pew Charitable Trusts. The research, involving marine, intertidal and terrestrial sampling, necessitated a diverse team of 10 specialists with expertise in bentho-pelagic coupling, biogeography, ecology and population genetics. |
