Tide gauge benchmark (TGBM) description

USGS 1: The standard disk, stamped 'No.1 1969', is set in concrete deck at three feet north of Net P Pier Warehouse (established 1969).

Auxiliary benchmarks

• UH B-1: The standard silver disk is set in concrete 1.5 feet right of the tide gauge house door (established Apr 1981).
• UH B-2: The standard silver disk is set in concrete 21 feet from the south eastern corner of the gauge house (established Apr 1981).
• UH B-3: The standard silver disk is set in concrete 50 feet from the south eastern corner of the gauge house (established Apr 1981).

• Datum of data is tide staff zero.
• Datum is 2.477m below USGS 1 (Apr 1990).
• Datum is 2.903m below UH B-1 (Apr 1990).

Quality Assessment by the UH Sea Level Centre

Comment

The tidal analysis was unable to resolve all the harmonic constituents in the data thus the hourly residuals contain uncertain periodic signatures. The daily and monthly means reveal no apparent changes in the reference level and agree well with Majuro. The data quality is good. This series is distinguished from Pohnpei-A because the two series are not linked to the same tide staff zero.
