Datum of the pressure measurements is not maintained from one deployment to the next and the depths given are approximate. (Reference: Vassie et al., Journal of Geophysical Research, 99(C1), 937-949).

Quality Assessment

Mean and long-term drift has been removed from the data for the deployments 1984-1988, however no attempt has been made to remove possible drift for deployments 1991-1994.

Jul 1984- Feb 1985The time series is essentially flat over most of its length, but with a drop of approx. 20 mbars between day nos 210 and 240 (August 1984). It is believed that the rapid fall is an instrumental effect of the strain gauge. (see Vassie et al.)
