The originators have related the data to tide staff zero which is linked to a fixed set of bench marks.
Several segments with obvious shifts have warranted adjustment based on comparisons with Antofagasta and analysis of residuals (observed data minus predicted tides). These adjustments contain uncertainty of a few cm.

Comment
The differences of the daily and monthly values with Antofagasta appear reasonable, except for level uncertainty in Valparaiso during June - December, 1972. The hourly residuals show a very noisy signal during 1972 that is probably associated with mechanical problems.
