    Reference Level:                                                            
    The  sea level heights are referred to the zero point assigned to the  tide 
    gauge.                                                                      
                                                                                
    Tide gauge benchmark (TGBM) description:                                    
    1) 3 metre mark on tide staff.                                              
    2) One brass bolt at the edge of wharf of tide gauge.                       
    3) A bolt on the gauge.                                                     
                                                                                
    Auxiliary benchmarks:                                                       
    One bolt flush with wall located about 7.5m west of station.                
                                                                                
    Benchmark relationships:                                                    
    There is a 3 metre mark tied to the National Primary Levelling Network  and 
    Fundamental  benchmark  TTP30.  The  3 metre mark is  1.6788  metres  above 
    Admiralty  Chart  Datum.  The  bolt on the gauge  is  3.0488  metres  above 
    Admiralty Chart Datum (February 1987 onwards).

    Comment: The daily  or  monthly  means do not  reveal any obvious reference 
             level changes or trends.   Timing errors are evident in the hourly
