National Oceanographic Database (NODB) data series

Search

This interface allows you to build and then submit a search query for data series held in the NODB. The query is built from a number of categories, each of which is initially set to a broad default value that you can make narrower using the 'Refine' button.

It is not essential to start at the top of the form as the options available in all categories are automatically updated depending on your selections. We recommend that you start with your most important criteria. Your current search criteria are updated and displayed in the search form as you make your choices.

After each update, the number of data series that match your selection will be displayed at the bottom of the page. You will need to continue to refine your search until you have selected fewer than 1000 series, after which you will be able to view your results. You may, if you wish, refine any of your selections at any time. A history of your previous choices is maintained for each category.

A demonstration (best viewed with screen resolutions of 1024x768 or greater) is available for you to view.

A detailed explanation for each search category is also provided. This information may be viewed via the Help button.
