CTD profiles

Our CTD profile inventory allows you to search our CTD data holdings. It includes 66,714 CTD casts — most of which are publicly available.

You can search by area, date, water depth, profile depth, project, cruise and parameter. You will be able to submit one or more searches, select entries and modify your selection before submitting your final request to us for processing. You also have the option of downloading your selection in Comma Separated Value (CSV) format.

On receipt of your request, we will retrieve the data sets from our databases and send them to you, or place them on our Anonymous FTP area.

Please note — our all data series facility allows you to retrieve data directly from our web site. It provides access to all data (including CTD profiles) held in our National Oceanographic Database.

To request the CTD profile data, you are required to be a registered BODC web user. If you have already registered, please log in, alternatively please register to become a new user.
