Planned service interruption

Planned maintenance - 8th October 2015 14:00 to 17:00 BST

Planned network improvement work will intermittently affect access to our web sites and service.

We aim to keep disruption to a minimum but access should be considered at risk between the above times. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that will be caused.

Unplanned issues

1. Network issue on our cloud platform - 2nd July 2015 12:40 - resolved

Ongoing network issues are intermittently disrupting access to our web sites and services. We will need to take some systems off line at 8am on 3rd July 2015 in order to investigate the problem further. Our web sites and services will be offline during this period. It is not yet known how long the outage and interruptions to service will last.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience being caused. Further information will be posted here when this information becomes known.

Update - 4th July 2015
Hardware has been replaced. Work will continue over the weekend and into next week. Further updates will be supplied first thing Monday morning. Unfortunately due to the complexities of the issues that are being waded through, we are unable to estimate a resolution time for this problem. Access to our web sites and services remains disrupted and at risk. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience being caused.

Update - 6th July 2015
Most services have now been restored/are accessible but should still be considered at risk.

Update - 9th July 2015
Network latency issues remain, all BODC web sites and services remain at risk and are liable to disruption. We are specifically aware to degradation in display of maps on this web site. Investigation is in the hands of our IT section and is ongoing. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience being caused.

Update - 10th July 2015
Investigation of the root causes of the disruption is ongoing. Unfortunately it appears that conditions have deteriorated and the web site is going offline for short periods of time. A further update will be made on Monday.

This issue remains ongoing.

2. Disk quota issue disrupting data delivery - 8th July 2015 15:30 - resolved

We are experiencing an error on our file system that is used for generation of your data requests. At this time we are unable to process any online request for data due to this issue. Your requests are queued and will be processed once our IT section have resolved the issue.

If you are in urgent need of data then please contact our Enquiries Officer.

Update - 10th July 2015
We have managed to process a proportion of queued data requests today and these will appear as downloadable from 'My account'. Unfortunately the latency issue above may mean that 'My account' is not currently available to you. We would advise trying again later if this is the case. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delay in getting data to you.

Update - 13th July 2015
This is has now been resolved but there will still be delays and disruption to data delivery due to 1) above.
