This product and/or its contents should not be passed to a third party, other than for the purposes of collaborative research, without the written agreement of BODC.

Data attribution and ownership

Any publication or other output resulting from the usage of the data should include an acknowledgment of the data source. The recommended acknowledgment is:

''The data were supplied by the British Oceanographic Data Centre as part of the function of the National Tidal & Sea Level Facility, hosted by the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory (now part of the National Oceanography Centre) and funded by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment Research Council''

The recipient shall

  1. Inform BODC of the outputs to which the data have contributed e.g. references to publications or reports.
  2. Offer to BODC, if requested and without charge, a copy of any value added data set or product derived from the data.
  3. Inform BODC of any inaccuracies or errors detected in the data.

The ownership of the data remains the property of NERC and/or the originating source(s) providing the data to NERC.
