Data delivery

Core CTD and underway data

The CTD and continuous underway core data from the AMT cruises are available online in a fixed format (ASCII CSV format) from our Online CTD and underway data delivery pages. The data are freely available to AMT participants and the wider scientific community.

To download these data, you are required to be a registered BODC web user. If you have already registered, please log in as necessary. Alternatively, follow the Register link to become a new user and we will redirect you to an electronic registration form. Simply provide a few details and you will be able to proceed with your download.

You may also contact Rob Thomas or Gwen Moncoiffé directly if you need the CTD and underway data in a different format from that available online.

AMT19 was successfully completed October-November 2009. The core CTD have been processed and are now available from the Online CTD and underway data delivery pages. The AMT19 underway data will be available shortly.

Other AMT data

Access to all other AMT data from Phase 1 and 2 cruises is now publicly available. Access to all other AMT data collected during Phase 3 are restricted to AMT and Oceans 2025 participants according to the time scales and conditions laid out in the AMT Data Policy document.

Requests for the data should be directed to Rob Thomas or Gwen Moncoiffé at BODC.

Until AMT data enter the public domain BODC will not transfer them to parties outside the AMT community or Oceans 2025 centres without the explicit agreement of the data originator.

Rules regulating data exchange and usage are available from the AMT Data Policy. In particular, AMT participants and interested parties are reminded that

Please take into account the following information before making a request

BODC has been collating and integrating all the data sets from cruises AMT1 to 11 (1995—2000). Please note that this work is currently in progress and that it will take a significant amount of time to complete.

BODC is responsible for the collation and management of data sets from the second phase of AMT cruises (2003—2005) and there are still a number of data sets yet to be submitted. BODC and PML have identified the outstanding Phase 2 data sets and are awaiting updates or submission from the scientists responsible for these datasets.

These data sets will be available in accordance with the AMT and Oceans 2025 data policy after the release dates set out in the Oceans 2025 and AMT data policies agreed by the AMT Steering Committee.

Check data availability and processing status from the AMT data sets inventory pages.
