UK Surface Ocean - Lower Atmosphere Study (UK SOLAS)
Project 8
Investigation of near surface production of iodocarbons - rates and exchanges (INSPIRE)
Principal Investigator — Gill Malin, School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia (UEA).
Objectives
- To determine the dominant iodocarbon production and loss processes in waters around Cape Verde
Activities
Fieldwork has included a dedicated research cruise (D325) to study the Cape Verde region of the tropical Atlantic. Cruise activities included incubation experiments and sampling to measure
- Iodocarbon concentrations
- Surface hydrographic, photochemical and biological variables
