Port of departureBrest, France
Port of returnSouthampton, United Kingdom
PurposeResearch
ObjectivesBuilding on the Mapping of Whittard Canyon by TOBI (Towed Ocean Bottom Instrument) Sidescan Sonar survey and shipboard swath bathymetry from cruise JC35, this cruise aimed to learn about canyon formation, landslide, sediment transport and gully formation. It provided insight into the different terrains that provide habitat for animals living in the Whittard Canyon.
