In March we were given the go ahead to manage the majority of data for the Rapid Climate Change (RAPID) programme.
Both BODC and the British Atmospheric Data Centre (BADC) will be providing data management services. BODC will be responsible for the marine, palaeo and terrestrial data. BADC will be responsible for data resulting from climate modelling experiments.
Robin McCandliss is BODC’s coordinator. She will be working closely with the RAPID scientists and will be responsible for the quality control and secure archiving of the data. Robin will be assisted by her colleagues, Julie Collins and Mark Hebden.
RAPID aims to improve the ability of scientists to predict future rapid changes in climate. Its main (but not exclusive) focus is on the role of the Atlantic Ocean's Thermohaline Circulation.
