| Objectives | Assess the spawning stock of blue whiting in March-April 2011 as part of the joint international survey on the spawning grounds west of the British Isles, the Porcupine Bank and the Rockall Bank. Four parties and six research vessels take part in the survey, coordinated by the Planning Group on Northeast Atlantic Pelagic Ecosystem Surveys (PGNAPES) at ICES. Results to be used in the assessment of blue whiting by the Working Group on Widely Distributed Stocks (Blue Whiting, NEA Mackerel, horse mackerel and Norwegian spring spawning Herring) (WGWDS), formerly the Northern Pelagic and Blue Whiting Working Group (NPBWWG), in September 2011. |
