ObjectivesThe cruise plan was to sail from Peterhead on 7 June, to reach the northernmost of 8 transect perpendicular on the coast over the Wee Bankie/Marr Bank system and to complete at least 4 transects before two ' minisurveys ' were to be planned and performed. During the transects, the scanfish was operated at all time, while CTD stations (with bongonet samples for zooplankton) were worked at regular intervals along the transects. The scanfish was brought on board for each CTD station, the Simrad and the ADCP were used (not together) during steaming. Ornithological observations were planned for the entire daylight period (approx. 03:00-20:00 GMT), with special emphasis on seabird foraging behaviour and multi-species feeding frenzies. Following the mini-surveys, the remaining transects were to be completed.
