| Objectives | BSH North Sea Summer Survey. The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) started the annual summer surveys In 1998. They cover the entire North Sea with seven coast to coast East-West sections between 54° and 60°N and additional stations between 54°N and the entrance of the English Channel. Monitoring of the oceanographic and chemical water quality in the North Sea during the maximum summer thermal development by means of discrete water sampling and a towed continuously profiling CTD systems. Chemical measurements on trace metals, nutrients and oxygen. |
