| Purpose | Research |
| Objectives | Hydroacoustic and trawl survey on redfish in the Irminger Sea and adjacent waters. The redfish occours in this area in a depth between 200 - 1000 m. In this depth interval we find also a deep scattering layer disturbing the estimation of the redfish aboundance by hydroacoustical means. Therefore the aboundance has to be measured by hydroacoustics above the deep scattering layer and by trawl catches within and below this layer. Unfortunately it was not possible to reach the survey area due to a problem with the main engine. The alternative plan was to support the acoustical measurements in the North Sea. Due to new technical problems this plan has to be aborted after one day. |
