ObjectivesEndeavour sailed at 09:00 5 May 2015 and went directly to West Gabbard. A CTD was collected at 13:15 but the wind and tide combination was too strong for the ship to hold position so the SmartBuoy was not recovered. Bad weather impeded progress to the Warp SmartBuoy and it was decided not to collect a CTD before the recovery. The buoy was recovered and a CTD was collected afterwards. The ship then steamed overnight to the Dowsing SmartBuoy. Permission was obtained to stay out an additional 12 hrs, so after the successful service of the Dowsing SmartBuoy, and the associated water samples, the ship returned to West Gabbard. The weather was still poor and the ship arrived too late to attempt a recovery in the evening of the 6th. The West Gabbard SmartBuoy was successfully serviced at 05:45 on 7 May followed by a CTD, before returning to Lowestoft for a 09:45 pilot.
