ObjectivesObjective: International acoustic survey for pelagic fish stocks in the North Sea

On 29 June FRV Solea left Cuxhaven and steamed towards position (54° 14'N, 007° 03'E) were the calibration was carried out. Finishing the calibration the survey started on 30/06/2016 at the position 54° 14'N. 007° 54'E. All investigations were done during day time from 0400UTC - 1800UTC. The acoustic equipment was the new echosounder EK80 with the hull-mounted transducers ES38B and ES120-7 respectively. The weather conditions were bad for summer time. In the evening of 19 July FRV Solea entered Cuxhaven harbor after covering 1873 NM of hydroacoustic transects. 29 fishery hauls with a pelagic trawl net PSN 388 Krake and 61 CTD casts were conducted.
