| Objectives | The bottom trawl surveys CGFS are conducted every year in autumn since 1988, and provide data required for assessing the marine resources in the English Channel (identification of species, abundance/biomass, size structure, biological sampling for species of commercial interest). Moreover, in the MSFD context, this survey is used to monitor the whole ecosystem (pelagic habitats, benthic habitats, monitoring of gelatinous organisms, top-predators, and monitoring microplastics).
