Objectives | Optical Plankton Counter SeaSoar Data
Four SeaSoar surveys were carried out from FS Polarstern during the ANT XIII/2 cruise to look at upper ocean dynamics in areas of high biological productivity. As well as the standard CTD measurements, the SeaSoar was fitted with a fluorimeter and Optical Plankton Counter, the latter being used for the first time. ADCP Data Polarstern was also fitted with a 150kHz RDI ADCP and the backscatter data collected from the ADCP during the SeaSoar surveys are presented in this report. Underway Data Report During the cruise Underway data comprising navigation, thermosalinograph, bathymetry and meteorological data were logged to the ship's computer system. This report describes their transfer to the SOC PSTAR computing system and displays some of the results. |
