Description 
Summary

Seasonal and spatial distribution of macrobenthic faunal composition, abundance, biomass and diversity were investigated in the Aegean Sea during March 97, September 97 and March 98. Quantitative samples (3-5 replicates) were collected from 6 stations in the South and 7 stations in the North Aegean Sea. Cores were sliced into 3 sediment layers: 0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm depth. Overall, data highlight differences in the macrobenthic communities between and within the South and North Aegean Sea stations. This study was part of the multidisciplinary EU MAST III MTP II project MATER (contract MAS3-CT96-0051).
