Description
Summary

Biological database of Helicolenus dactylopterus dactylopterus, Pontinus kuhlli and other scorpaenid of the Azores. The scorpion fishes of the Azores are fished by long-line, mainly at depths greater than 300 m. Bluemouth is one of the more frequent fishes in the Azorean demersal fisheries, with increasing landings in the last years. The females of this species spawn from January to May. The von Bertalanffy growth equation and the weight-length relationships have been calculated for both sexes.
