Description
Summary

This study evaluates the effect of crude oil on bacterial populations: total Choliphorms, total germs. A taxonomic study of involving tests (morphological, physiological and biochemical) on bacteria capable of degrading spilled oil, with the result of 13.86 per cent sp gram+ and 86.13 per cent gram-. The amount of crude oil degraded during the incubation period at different temperatures was also established. The samples were taken from water, sediments and washed sediments from the most polluted areas of the sounds of La Coruna, Ares and Ferrol after the Urquiola oil spill.
