Description
Summary

During three weeks in June 1972 this major programme was designed so that simultaneous changes in various physical and chemical parameters, throughout the entire length of the Tay estuary, could be measured. Measurements taken during full neap and spring tidal cycles included current speeds and directions, salinities, water temperatures, silt concentrations and chemical parameters. Boat stations were spaced at intervals of 3 to 6km along the main shipping channel. Two landward stations were located at Perth and the Bridge of Earn.
