Observations
Parameters

Carotenoid and flavenoid pigment concentrations in water bodies; Chlorophyll pigment concentrations in water bodies; Ocean colour and earth-leaving visible waveband spectral radiation; Phycobolin pigment concentrations in the water column; Concentration of suspended particulate material in the water column

Instruments

Fluorometers; optical backscatter sensors; plankton nets; ocean colour radiometers; sediment settling tubes; colorimeters; spectrophotometers

Description
Summary

A feasability study to evaluate the efficiency of measuring water quality using remote sensing equipment on an established ferry route across St Georges Channel. Water samples are taken frequently on crossings to calibrate sensors and analysed for various water quality parameters. Study funded by INTERREG 3
