Description
Summary

Offline CFC sampling: 100 ml of sea water are filled into glas ampoules which are flame-sealed with a CFC-free nitrogen headspace. In the laboratory at Bremen are measured with a fully automated gas chromatographic system. The basic design of system consists of a capillary column combined with a low volume trap to achieve full separation of peaks and high resolution. 30 ml of the sample are analyzed. The system is standardly calibrated against gas standards. All concentrations are referenced against the SIO93 scale. Individual errors have been assigned to each measurement. The quality digit assigend to each measurement contains information about the data quality 2=good measurement, 3= questionable measurement, 4=bad measurement, 6=replicate sample.
