Description
Summary

SKAGEX was conducted in 4 phases, the initial in May-June 1990 being the most extensive in terms of resources. It was designed to determine fluxes through the Skagerrak, and addressed fundamental physical, chemical and biological issues in order to enhance scientific understanding of this area which is particularly sensitive to happenings elsewhere in the North Sea.The full data set extends to some 2500 oceanographic stations most which were worked along pre-planned sections. 6 countries took part, namely Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Polen and USSR, with a total of 17 research vessels.
