Description
Summary

The main objective of the Delta Flume 2001 experiment was to investigate and measure the hydrodynamic and sedimentary processes involved in the resuspension of sediments in simple flows. The experiment took place in June and July 2001 at the Delft Hydraulics flume facility in Holland. A combination of advanced and traditional measurement techniques, using field and laboratory instrumentation, was used in order to quantify near bed hydrodynamics, suspended sediments and ripple dynamics. Funding was provided by the EU and NERC. The project was led by the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory; other partners included: University of Bangor, University of Birmingham, University of Liverpool, Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, Instituto Superior Tecnico, Portugal and Institute of Hydroengineering, Poland.
