| Objectives and Narrative |
Aims
1. Service SmartBuoys at Warp and West Gabbard 2. Deploy EAOW landers, waveriders and guard buoys at 5 sites (inc Multibeam) 3. Trial deployments of BRUVS camera trap (at SmartBuoy sites as a minimum) The Endeavour sailed at 12:00 on Monday 3rd Dec and steam to West Gabbard to service the SmartBuoy and do a trial deployment of the BRUVS unit. This achieved successfully by 20:15 and the ship steamed overnight to multibeam at AWAC 3.1 and AWAC 4.1 by 07:30 on 4/12/12. It was to rough to deploy a minilander at AWAC4.1 but the guard buoys were deployed. The waveriders and guard buoys at DWR E and F were also successfully deployed. At site AWAC 3.1 the weather sea had abated sufficiently to allow safe deployment of the minlander. Both water and sediment grab samples were obtained before the two guard buoys were put in place. The ship turned back north and was able to deploy the minilander at AWAC 4.1. the water and grab samples were collected before leaving for Lowestoft at 18:50 |
