Introduction

This report collates information from the BODC cruise inventory and oceanographic databases. It presents

Cruise Inventory Information

Long name RRS Challenger (74CH) cruise CH15/80
Short name CH15/80
Objectives and Narrative The objectives of this cruise were:
(1) To service current meter moorings at stations M, F (deep water) and R (shelf). Mooring at R recovered. Mooring at M lost. Both moorings relaid. No work on F.
(2) To lay a current meter mooring at station P. Not done.
(3) To service four IOS moorings in the Rockall Channel. Three of four moorings (I1-I3) successfully recovered.. I1, I2 and I4 relaid.
(4) To work the DML Rockall via Anton Dohrn Seamount CTD section. Not possible due to poor weather.
(5) To collect large-volume surface water samples for radiocaesium analysis, accompanied by CTD profiles, at stations across the Scottish continental shelf. Accomplished with CTD profiles at all but one station.
(6) Collect cores in the Northern Rockall Trough. Two cores obtained.
