2. To conduct CTD and water sampling surveys in the Loch Torridon area.
3. To collect sedimetn samples in Loch Duich for studies of nitrogen cycling in sea loch sediments.
4. To collect sediment samples in Loch Duich for studies of ammonia-oxidising bacteria at fish farms.
5. To recover hydrographic moorings from Loch Torridon and adjacent coastal waters.

Zooplankton Quantity: number of samples = 45
Description: Zooplankton samples collected by Neuston net and/or sub-surface pump. Cod-end mesh = 95 mirco metres. Samples collected for identification of sea lice nauplii and copepodid stages.  
Geology and geophysics

Description: Pore water samples were collected using conventional extraction techniques, diffusion equilibralian thin film gels and diffusion gradient thin samples collected for the determination of diagentic processes and benthic fluxes

Description: Sediment cores collected using a sholhovitz and box corer. Samples processed for delta 15N incubation experiments, sediment microbiology and whole sediment chemistry.

Description: Grab samples collected along transects adjacent to fish farm cages for delta 15N analysis.
