Abstract |
This dataset consists of measurements of the partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2), carried out within the Western Channel Observatory programme (WCO) by the Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML). Data were collected with a PML-Dartcom Live pCO2 system. Briefly, the instrumentation comprises a "closed circuit" equilibrator, dryer and infrared detector (LICOR 840). Three calibration gases were used; nominally 0, 250 and 450 ppmv CO2 in air. The dataset spans the period between 16 April 2007 and 14 September 2009 and includes the long term monitoring stations L4 (50.251 N, 4.221 W; depth 50 m) and E1 (50.031 N, 4.371 W; depth 75 m), which are located approximately 12 km and 38 km offshore of Plymouth in the English Channel. Ancillary data on the wider WCO study region are available from BODC. |
