Abstract |
This dataset consists of CTD profiles processed and calibrated by the National Oceanography Centre Liverpool (NOC-L) from cruise D366 around the UK and Ireland in June and July 2011. These data were collected as part of the UK Ocean Acidification programme. The CTD profiles provide a background to the changing properties of the water column at these sites, which were concurrently sampled for a range of biological and chemical parameters. Sampling was carried out daily subject to appropriate weather conditions. Sensors deployed on the rig to collect the data were a Sea-Bird SBE911+, Chelsea MKIII Aquatracka Fluorometer, Chelsea MKII 25cm path Alphatracka transmissometer, WETLabs BBRTD light scattering sensor ( red LED, 650nm), Chelsea Technologies PAR sensors and a Sea-Bird SBE43+ dissolved oxygen sensor. Derived values for density (sigma-theta), potential temperature and oxygen saturation were derived by BODC during loading to the National Oceanographic Database (NODB). N.B. These data are a snapshot of profiles and associated documentation for sites and period stated held within the NODB as at the Dataset Publication Date. |
