Description
Summary

Two estuaries, the Westerschelde and the Yzer (Belgium) on the North Sea coast, have been sampled monthly during one year (1991-1992). The aim of this study is: a) an inventarisation of the microphytobenthic communities in these estuaries (+ taxonomy of species); b) to study the structure of these communities with the aid of multivariate techniques; c) to relate the distribution (spatial and temporal) of these communities with selected environmental parameters.
