Description | |
Summary | The studies are carried out within a larger monitoring program (Intensive Monitoring of the Pelagic Environment) to estimate the particulate matter settling rate in the water column. Estimates of settling rates of particulate organic material are biased due to resuspension of settled material. Consequently, caution is advised when interpreting data obtained with sediment traps as primary settling rates. Data from simultaneous sampling for water chemistry and physics is stored at the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI). |
