Description
Summary

The main aim of the HABES project is to develop an expert system using fuzzy logic principles and incorporating the improved and extended knowledge of the interaction between physical and ecological factors determining the formation of harmful algal blooms. The measurement campaign was performed at the entrance area of the Gulf of Finland in July 2002.The towed CTD measurements were carried out with the aim to study the influence of the physical meso-scale processes on the distribution of phytoplankton. Overall 4 surveys were performed in the study area (about 1300 CTD profiles). The CTD data are quality controlled.
