Description
Summary

The overall goal of the project was to study the plankton production across hydrophysical boundaries in the entrance area of the Gulf of Finland where a quasi -permanent density front was frequently observed. The high-resolution CTD measurements were carried out with the aim to study the mesoscale spatio-temporal changes in the frontal zone and adjacent water masses. The measurement campaign was performed at the entrance area of the Gulf of Finland in 1993 from July 14 to July 23 and in 1994 from July 23 to August 2. In 1993 overall 10 surveys and in 1994 10 surveys were performed in the study area (about 2107 and 1587 CTD profiles respectively). The CTD data are quality controlled.
