Discrete water samplers

Within the framework of 16 national projects 114 cruises have been conducted, aimed at studying hydrology and dynamics of coastal areas for management and protection. Temperature and salinity measurements from 2588 stations are included in this data set. Data are recorded at discrete depth levels. Cruise information, date and time are reported for each station. The collection of data have been made in various coastal areas, as follows: Saronikos Gulf, Pagassitikos Gulf, Thermaikos Gulf, Patraikos Gulf, Rio Strait, Amvrakikos Gulf, North Euboikos Gulf, Gera Bay and Mytilini Strait (Lesvos Island), Navarino Bay and Rhodos Strait. All data are quality controlled and formatted in MEDATLAS format. Data sets have been provided to the HNODC from the various research sectors of NCMR, mainly from the Physical Oceanographic Department.
