Zooplankton samples were collected from 6 stations at the South Aegean Sea and in the Cretan Straits. Mesozooplankton sampling was performed with a WP2 net (200mm mesh aperture size). At every station horizontal and vertical haulings were performed. The general objectives were to study the seasonal qualitative and quantitative distributions of the zooplankton communities in the Straits of the Cretan Arc, the South Aegean Sea and the adjacent open sea regions of the Eastern Mediterranean Basin. A total of 20 stations were held during PELAGOS fieldwork. Data have been available to HNODC from the Laboratory of Zoology, Department of Biology, University of Athens.
