The aim of the project was to study the suitability of the area for establishing aquaculture production units (marine fish hatchery, fish pens, cages, oyster parks and mussel farms).A number of biological, physical and chemical parameters were monitored for a one year period (July 1985 - August 1986) in twelve sites. Pilot units for fish and shellfish production were established (fish cages, mussel farm). A pilot hatchery was also constructed.
