In the framework of the project on the Ecology of Medusae in Greek waters, monthly data of phytoplankton (chlorophyll-a and species composition) and zooplankton (biomass and groups composition) were collected, in the upper layer down to 50 metres depth. Phytoplankton and zooplankton data (chlorophyll-a, species composition) are collected monthly in the whole gulf and biweekly in a coastal shallow area near the Athens sewage outfall. Phytobenthos and macrozoobenthos (species composition) data are collected seasonally in the inner part of the gulf.
