Summary

The Project 'Identification and description of habitat types at sites of interest for conservation' is an action of the Ministry of Environment within the framework of Directive 92/43/EEC (Habitat Directive). The application of this directive is facilitating the creation of the European network of areas under special environmental management known as NATURA-2000.The Greek part of the NATURA-2000 network includes about 300 sites of which 250-270 have an important marine part. The aim of the 5th Study is the description and mapping of 67 sites of the network.
