| Summary | Data have been collected within the framework of national and international research projects, aiming at improving the existing knowledge of the quality of the marine environment. Analyses have been performed in both the dissolved and particulate phase of sea water in Northern Aegean Sea and Ionian Sea. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons have been determined by gas chromatography mass spectrometry in order to estimate the petroleum related pollution in the Greek seas and to study the sources and the transformations of PAHs in the sea water column. |
