The Olympic Games-2004 Sailing Center will be constructed in the Agios Kosmas area (Saronikos Gulf); the NCMR carried out a multi-disciplinary base-line study. The results will be taken under consideration during the construction of the planned works for the Olympic Sailing Center. The NCMR in collaboration with the Olympic Games Organizing Committee has carried out a detailed environmental survey (1), in order to: (a) support the constructions with geological and geotechnical information; (b) to record the present environmental conditions; (c) to identify sensitive parameters; and (d) to suggest methods for the future sustainable use of the marine area.
