The data were collected in the frame of the international project INTERREG 'Creation of infrastructure for the study of the Northern Aegean' of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research during four oceanographic cruises of RV 'AEGAEO'. The main objectives of the project were the study of the waters that flow into the Aegean Sea via the three rivers of Samothrace Basin (Ebros, Nestos, Strimonas) and via the Dardanellia Straits from the Black Sea.
