Summary | Water samples were collected from 10 depth levels at each of 30 selected stations in the open sea waters of the Aegean Sea, within the framework of the international research project POEM (Physical Oceanography of Eastern Mediterranean Sea). Sampling was carried out twice a year. Total bacterial counts were made using epifluorescent microscopy. |
