| Summary | The data set comprises monthly values of sea surface temperature (SST) and ice cover for the period January 1979 to December 1988, using all available in-situ, climatological and satellite observations. Original data are on 2 ° by 2 ° latitude/longitude grid. PP format data are on 2.5 ° by 3.75 ° latitude/longitude grid for the period November 1978 to December 1990. Used in all AMIP model intercomparison runs. Note: Poor ice values in first three years. |
