Description
Summary

The research has been concentrated on the application of marine geochemistry and sedimentology in the study of:(a) submarine hydrothermal processes in relation to the formation of hydrothermal marine mineral deposits;(b) hydrothermal history and evolution of Aegean Sea submarine hydrothermal fields (Santorini, Milos, Kos, Yali-Nisiros, Methana area)(c) geochemical and sedimentological processes in relation to the formation of placer mineral deposits;(d) geochemical and sedimentological processes leading to the enrichment or dispersion of pollutants in areas of domestic discharge and dumping of metallic solid waste;(e) the source of sapropel constituents in the Eastern Mediterranean and the processes of their formation.(f) sampling of large volumes of seawater, filtration and determination of the distribution of suspended particulate matter;(g) geochemical analysis of suspended particulate matter and determination of the distribution of major and trace elements;(h) study of seawater toxic solid waste interaction process with particular emphasis on the coastal zone;
