Coast areas of Greece (1800 sampling points covering the entire greek coastline)

The project provided: - Water sampling at 1800 specific sampling points - Detailed report on the pollution parameters on each coast, on every visit - Microbiological water analysis on each sample - Immediate report to authorities and re-sampling on cases of exceeding normal values - Internet - Information system for the public, regarding analysis results - Database - Statistical assessment for water quality. All the above work is carried out in implementation of the Greek National legislation for bathing waters, in compliance with relevant Greek and EU standards. The above project was carried out by Velonakis Laboratories on behalf of the Ministry for the Environment, from 1991 to 2007.
